AdPlug vs Adspirer: an Adspirer alternative for PPC specialists and agencies
Quick answer: AdPlug is for PPC specialists, consultants and agencies who want AI to speed up the work and keep control of every account: it plugs Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Ads, Reddit Ads and TikTok Ads into Claude, ChatGPT or any AI agent, checks every Google Ads change in a preview on its own server, and works on unlimited ad accounts on every plan, starting free. Adspirer is built mainly for people who don't know PPC and want an AI paid media manager to run it for them, and it costs a lot more: $49 a month buys 150 tool calls, where AdPlug's $29 Pro covers 5,000 requests. AdPlug (adplug.app) is my product, so weigh that.
Twelve years of running B2B Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads, with over $100M of spend through my hands, taught me to read the small print before I connect anything to a client's account. So for this page I went through Adspirer's pricing, docs, changelog, terms and GitHub repo, and every public review I could find. AdPlug is my product, and I use it daily on my own accounts and my agency's clients.

AdPlug vs Adspirer: who should pick which
On paper these two are the closest pair in this market. Both are hosted MCP servers, both work in Claude and ChatGPT, and both can change your campaigns as well as read them. The difference is who they're for.
Adspirer is built to stand in for the PPC specialist. It calls itself "the AI paid media manager", says "We built it so every account gets a specialist", and sells its Pro plan as "≈120 hours of specialist work/mo". That's a pitch for founders and marketers who don't know PPC and don't want to learn it.
AdPlug is built for the specialist: PPC specialists, consultants and agencies who know what good looks like and want AI to do the legwork. It plugs your accounts into the AI you already use, every call stays yours, and it gives you far more usage for far less money.
Pick AdPlug if
- You run PPC for a living, in-house, freelance or at an agency, and want AI to do the legwork while you make the calls
- You look after lots of accounts: every AdPlug plan, the free one included, works on unlimited ad accounts at once
- You'd rather pay less for more: AdPlug Pro is $29 a month for 5,000 requests, where Adspirer's Pro is $99 for 600 tool calls
- You want every Google Ads change checked in a preview on the server before it runs, not just a question from the AI
- You manage a team: View only or Can edit for each person on each platform
- You report on pipeline: Google Ads and HubSpot in the same chat, with every client's portal behind one connector
- You'd rather trust a tool built by a PPC specialist who uses it every day, on his own accounts and his agency's clients
Pick Adspirer if
- You don't know PPC and don't plan to learn: you'd rather an AI paid media manager built and ran the campaigns for you
- Amazon Ads or ChatGPT Ads is part of your mix
- You'd like agents that watch your accounts on a schedule and queue up changes for you to approve
- You don't mind paying $49 a month for 150 tool calls when $29 buys 5,000 (it's your money)
And if all you're after is a client dashboard, you don't need to pay either of them for it. AdPlug's free plan reads your accounts, and Claude or ChatGPT builds the dashboard from what it reads, laid out the way you want.
The real difference: where the approval lives
Both tools say you approve the changes. If you manage other people's money, two details matter more than the promise: where that approval is checked, and what exactly you're saying yes to.
How Adspirer makes changes
Adspirer is open about this, which I appreciate. Its docs say write tools "require user confirmation before execution", and the safety table on its how it works page shows who does the confirming. The row for user confirmation reads "AI asks before any spend-affecting action", and the layer it names is the "AI client + skill".
So the yes happens in the conversation. The AI asks, you answer, and the AI calls the write tool. The server holds back one kind of change on its own: deletes, which "won't run unless the call explicitly passes confirm_delete: true". That flag sits in the AI's own tool call. As its changelog put it in July, "Read tools still auto-run; only irreversible actions are gated." Its docs ask you to set the write tools to "Custom (ask each time)" in Claude yourself.
New campaigns are better guarded, and Adspirer deserves credit for it. "Every campaign Adspirer creates starts in PAUSED status", enforced "at both the skill level and the tool level", and it asks before switching one on.
Scheduled work depends on the setup. Adspirer's own Ad Ops agents park every change in an approvals inbox, which its docs call "a hard, server-side gate", and every new agent "starts by asking permission". Its July announcement adds an Auto-Apply level you can switch on, after which the agent changes "budgets, bids, pause/resume, negatives, targeting" by itself and sends you a digest with an undo link on each action. Its guide to scheduled Claude Cowork tasks says "Small, reversible changes auto-apply."
The terms are clear about whose problem a wrong number is. A confirmation or preview "is an aid, not a guarantee of correctness", you review every change "before and after it goes live", and Adspirer isn't liable for spend from "AI-generated, automated, or agent-driven actions".
How AdPlug makes changes
AdPlug has no agent of its own, on purpose. Claude or ChatGPT does the thinking, and AdPlug is the plug socket between it and your accounts. On Google Ads a change takes two separate tool calls, and the server won't run the second without the first.
- You ask: "Check budget pacing and tell me what you'd change."
- The AI reads spend against budget for each campaign and works out what it would move.
- It calls AdPlug's preview tool. The server checks the change and stores it exactly as it will run, under an ID: which budget, and the new amount. Nothing has changed in Google Ads yet.
- You read it. Wrong campaign, wrong number? Say so, and it never runs.
- Only after your yes can the execute tool run, and only on that stored preview. It runs once and expires after 15 minutes, so last week's yes can't turn into this week's change.
- AdPlug logs the call, and the change shows in Google Ads' own change history.
Check budget pacing. Which campaigns will run out early, which won't spend what they're given, and what would you change?
google_ads_preview_mutationPreview · Acme Software · 2 budget changes
| Campaign | Change | New daily budget |
|---|---|---|
| Search · Generic | Raise | $140.00 |
| Search · Brand | Lower | $60.00 |
Generic is losing a third of its impressions to budget and brings leads at $41 each, so I'd give it $40 a day more. Brand has spent well under its budget all month, so $60 a day still covers every search. Nothing changes until you say so. Shall I apply both?
Apply both.
google_ads_execute_mutationDone. Both budgets are updated, and Google Ads' change history shows them.
The AI can't skip that step, because the rule lives on AdPlug's server, not in a prompt or a client setting someone can change. HubSpot and Search Console changes work the same way. On the other ad platforms the preview tool is there too, but it isn't forced yet, so ask for it in your prompt. And like Adspirer, AdPlug creates new Google Ads campaigns paused unless you say otherwise.
Both approaches stop most accidents. Where they differ is the bad day: a long session, a vague prompt, an AI that's sure it already asked. On that day I want the check in the server, not in the model's memory. If a client or a finance director reads your change history, I suspect you do too.
Check budget pacing in this Google Ads account. Tell me which campaigns will run out of budget early and which won't spend what they're given, suggest new daily budgets, and show me the preview. Don't change anything until I say so.
What Adspirer users say, and what its changelog admits
I built a rival, so don't take Adspirer's faults from me. Here's what its users and its own changelog say, read on 24 Oct 2026. Start with how little there is.
| Where | Rating | Reviews |
|---|---|---|
| Trustpilot | No Adspirer page | 0 |
| G2 | None yet | 0 |
| Capterra | No listing | 0 |
| Product Hunt | None yet | 0 |
| SourceForge | None yet | 0 |
| ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor directories | No ratings | 0 |
People do pay for it: TrustMRR, which reads revenue from Stripe, showed 742 active subscriptions in June 2026. Hardly any of those customers have written about it in public, so each voice below is one person. Treat them as signals, not verdicts.
What users complain about
Running out of tasks. The only star rating I found sits on the Trustpilot page of Adspire, a different company, but its numbers match Adspirer's yearly Plus plan exactly: 1,800 calls for $485.
“Was recommended by ChatGPT, but proved a YEARLY connection of 1800 for $485, which was spent in a day.”
Meta campaigns that wouldn't build. Adspirer asks for bug reports on GitHub. Two in August, from the same Plus customer and the same ad account, still had no public reply on 24 Oct 2026.
“This makes Meta campaign creation completely unusable through Adspirer on this account, while Google Ads tools work fine.”
What its changelog admits
Adspirer publishes a detailed changelog, and I respect that: most vendors never tell you what broke. Read it before you hand it a budget, though, because several fixes are for exactly the failures that hurt in PPC.
- 8 August 2026. When Google rejected a daily budget change, the tool "came back with "Campaign updated successfully" anyway".
- 13 August. A bid strategy switch "could come back reporting success while Google quietly kept the old strategy", and "This one affected every bid strategy change, not only the new one."
- 18 August. In yen, won, rupiah and eight other currencies with no cents, "a budget you set through Adspirer reached Meta a hundred times larger than you asked for."
- 11 September. "A campaign an advertiser in Los Angeles meant to stop at midnight stopped at 5 PM, and a dated start ran and spent hours before it was supposed to be live."
- Still open on 24 Oct 2026. An issue Adspirer opened on 28 September says a published copy of its Claude plugin "carries a Meta budget unit bug that can book 100× the intended spend". That copy still tells the AI that Meta budgets are in cents.
The first four are fixed, and every tool has bugs (mine included). But a change that reports success and didn't happen is the worst kind in PPC, because you stop looking. Whatever you use, check Google Ads' change history after a write. Adspirer's terms say the same: the platform itself is "the authoritative record".
What users like
I looked just as hard for praise from independent users and couldn't find any, on review sites, Reddit, Product Hunt or GitHub. The kind words come from its rivals, and on breadth they're right.
“Adspirer covers more platforms than we do and says so accurately.”
Its rivals also credit the paused launches, and so do I. The happy customers on Adspirer's own site are quoted by first name and initial, which I can't check either way.
AdPlug vs Adspirer, side by side
Checked on each company's own pages on 24 Oct 2026. Edge marks the side that wins a row, only where that's a plain fact rather than my opinion.

Where Adspirer is stronger
Credit where it's due. There are three good reasons to pick it.
- Amazon Ads and ChatGPT Ads. Adspirer reads and changes Amazon's Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display, as an approved Amazon Ads Partner, and it connects ChatGPT's own ads too. AdPlug does neither, so if they're a real part of your spend, that settles it.
- Its own agents. If you'd like something watching the accounts between your conversations, Adspirer runs hosted agents that check on a schedule and park every change they propose in an approvals inbox, plus a watch agent that scans your accounts every 15 minutes and emails you what it finds. AdPlug leaves scheduling to your AI.
- It suits people who've never run a campaign. Adspirer pitches a specialist for every account, "not just the ones big enough to staff one", and a customer quoted on its site says "I don't know how to use Meta Ads Manager, but I know how to talk to Claude. That's all I needed." If that's you, its campaign-building skills and paused launches are made for you.

Why PPC specialists and agencies pick AdPlug
Adspirer is built for people who don't do PPC. It meters every task, limits how many accounts are active at once, and leaves the yes to the AI. If PPC is your job, all three get in the way. Here's what AdPlug does instead.
If PPC is your job
- The AI you already use, with what it already knows. The work happens in Claude, ChatGPT, Grok Bot, Hermes Agent or your own agents, next to your notes, your briefs and your other tools.
- Requests you don't have to ration. Pro is $29 a month for 5,000 requests and 200 edits, and Max is unlimited. A follow-up question costs you nothing extra, so you can ask it.
- Changes with names. AdPlug knows 174 kinds of Google Ads change, from negatives and budgets to responsive search ads, experiments and Performance Max asset groups, and every one of them goes through the same preview.
- Every platform you run. Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Ads, Reddit Ads and TikTok Ads sit in the same plan as Google Ads, with Google Search Console and HubSpot on connectors of their own. Microsoft Ads comes with its reports, from campaigns down to search queries.
- Read-only until you say otherwise. The free plan can't change anything, which is how I'd start with any new tool.

Report and optimise on pipeline, not just conversions
For B2B accounts this is where the gap is widest. A Google Ads conversion is a form fill. Pipeline is what the client is paying for.
Adspirer's docs list GA4 and Klaviyo, but no CRM. AdPlug connects HubSpot next to Google Ads, so the same chat can follow each campaign from the click to the deal: the contacts it brought, how far they got through the lifecycle stages, and the pipeline they made. Then it can move budget towards the campaigns that make pipeline, with a preview before anything changes.
HubSpot comes with Pro, and one HubSpot connector reaches every client portal you connect: three on Pro, ten on Max and Agency.
Which Google Ads campaigns are making pipeline for Acme Software, and which only make cheap leads?
hubspot_reportAcme Software · paid search contacts by campaign
| Campaign | Contacts | SQLs | Pipeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search · Generic | 212 | 19 | $184,000 |
| Search · Competitors | 64 | 11 | $132,500 |
| Search · Brand | 148 | 6 | $41,000 |
Competitors brings the fewest contacts but the most pipeline per contact: about $2,070, against $870 for Generic and $277 for Brand. Want me to pull the spend from Google Ads, work out what each SQL cost, and suggest budget moves as a preview?
Line up my Google Ads campaigns with HubSpot. For each campaign, show the contacts, SQLs and pipeline it made and what each SQL cost, then suggest budget moves as a preview. Don't change anything yet.
If you run an agency
- Every client account in play, on every plan. AdPlug works on unlimited ad accounts on every plan, the free one included, and the AI can move between them in one chat. Adspirer lets you connect unlimited accounts too, but on its monthly Plus and Pro plans only one per platform is active at a time, and five on Max.
- One sign-in for the MCC. One Google sign-in covers every account under your manager account, and from Pro you can add Google logins for clients under other MCCs: three on Pro, five on Max and Agency.
- Access for every user, platform by platform. Each teammate gets View only or Can edit on each platform. The junior can read every client and change none of them, the senior can edit Google Ads and only read LinkedIn, and AdPlug enforces it on every request. On Adspirer's self-serve plans, each teammate signs up separately, or you book a demo for a team plan.
- A record of the work. AdPlug logs every tool call, your dashboard shows your latest ones, and a team owner sees each teammate's usage platform by platform. Google Ads' change history fills in the rest.

Adspirer pricing
Adspirer charges by the task, which is a tool call: "A performance pull is one task; a full multi-platform launch is more." Plus is $49 a month for 150, Pro $99 for 600 and Max $199 for 3,000, or $40, $83 and $167 a month billed yearly. The free plan gives you 15 a month with no card, and there's no trial. Checked on its pricing page and pricing docs on 24 Oct 2026.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Adspirer Free | $0 | 15 tool calls a month, one active account per platform, a one-time 90-day data snapshot |
| Adspirer Plus | $49/mo, or $40/mo yearly | 150 tool calls a month, one active account per platform (five on yearly), GA4 and Klaviyo |
| Adspirer Pro | $99/mo, or $83/mo yearly | 600 tool calls a month, one active account per platform (five on yearly) |
| Adspirer Max | $199/mo, or $167/mo yearly | 3,000 tool calls a month (50,000 a year on yearly), five active accounts per platform |
| Adspirer Agencies & Enterprise | Custom | Its agents in your Slack, access lists per client, team plans |
| AdPlug Free | $0 | View only, one platform, unlimited ad accounts, 500 requests in the first 5 days, then 50 a month |
| AdPlug Pro | $29/mo | Every platform and HubSpot, 5,000 requests and 200 edits a month, three Google logins, 7-day trial |
| AdPlug Max | $89/mo | Unlimited requests and edits, three team members, five Google logins |
| AdPlug Agency | Custom, per seat | Everything in Max for the whole team, plus a signed DPA |
Like for like, that's a lot more than AdPlug. Adspirer's Pro is $99 for 600 tool calls, and AdPlug Pro is $29 for 5,000 requests. Adspirer's Max is $199 for 3,000, and AdPlug Max is $89 with no meter at all.
And the calls go faster than you'd think. By Adspirer's own pricing docs, a simple question is one call, a medium task 8 to 12 and a complex launch 25 to 40 or more. So Plus pays for a dozen or so medium tasks a month, and the AI's follow-up questions come out of the same 150.
Two lines I'd read twice. Plus overage is on by default: past 150 calls, each one costs $0.50, up to $50 a month. On yearly Plus and Pro, running out of calls bills the whole year again, 48 hours after the warning email, unless you switch overage off first. And subscription fees are "non-refundable except where required by law". AdPlug has a 14-day refund window, never charges overage, and the free plan never asks for a card.
Adspirer alternatives, by the job you need done
The best alternative depends on why you looked at Adspirer in the first place. I've compared the Google Ads connectors in more depth in my Google Ads MCP server comparison.
AdPlugMy pick
For PPC specialists, consultants and agencies who want Claude, ChatGPT or their own agents on every account they run, unlimited accounts on every plan, a server-checked preview before every Google Ads change and access set per teammate. Free to read, then Pro at $29 a month.
Pick it if you want the AI to do the legwork and you to make the calls. See how it works on Google Ads.
Ryze AI
An autonomous agent that runs your ads, and sells SEO and website work on the side, from $89 a month. I've compared it with AdPlug in AdPlug vs Ryze AI.
Pick it if you want to hand the account over rather than approve each change.
Google's Google Ads MCP server
Free and read-only, with three tools: GAQL search, field metadata and the list of accounts you can reach. You run it yourself, on your own machine or Google Cloud project.
Pick it if someone technical can host it and you only ever need to read Google Ads.
Pipeboard
Meta first, with Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn on the same account slots. Free for 30 tool runs a week on two accounts, then Pro at $29.90 a month for three (pricing, checked 24 Oct 2026).
Pick it if Meta is most of your spend and you run a handful of accounts.
Optmyzr, Opteo or Adalysis
Classic PPC platforms with rules, audits and one-click fixes you confirm in their own dashboards. I've scored all three in the best AI tools for Google Ads.
Pick one if you'd rather have suggestions in a dashboard than an AI in a chat.
Switching from Adspirer to AdPlug
It takes about ten minutes. Before you start, open Google Ads' change history (and Meta's activity log, if you used it there) to see what was changed through Adspirer. That's worth knowing whichever tool you pick next.
- If you set up Adspirer's Ad Ops agents, scheduled Claude Cowork tasks or jobs on its API, switch them off first, so nothing runs while you move.
- Cancel from the Current Plan card in Adspirer: Manage Subscription opens Stripe's billing portal. Scheduling the cancellation also switches overage billing off.
- Remove Adspirer's connector from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, delete any API keys you made, then remove its access in your Google account under Security, Third-party connections, and in each other ad platform's list of connected apps.
- Sign up for AdPlug and connect your ad platforms through each one's own sign-in screen. Every account behind that login comes with it, manager accounts included.
- Add AdPlug's address to your AI as a custom connector. The guides walk through it with screenshots for Claude, Grok Bot and ChatGPT dots.
- Start with a question you can check, like last month's spend by campaign. Once the numbers match the platform, move on to the real work.
Who should stay with Adspirer
- You don't run PPC yourself and want an AI paid media manager to do it for you.
- Amazon Ads or ChatGPT Ads is a real part of your spend.
- You want an agent watching the accounts and queueing changes, not an AI that waits for you.
- It's working, your numbers are up, and its changes match your change history. Don't switch for the sake of it.
P.S. Adspirer's comparison page calls my open-source LinkedIn Ads server the "Most complete LinkedIn option in the community ecosystem." It doesn't mention AdPlug on any page I read, which I'm choosing to read as an oversight.
