Google API Services Disclosure
Last updated: April 19, 2026
What is AdPlug?
AdPlug is a hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) platform that lets performance marketers manage their advertising accounts through AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor. When you connect your Google Ads account, AdPlug acts as a secure bridge between your AI tool and the Google Ads API.
What Google data does AdPlug access?
AdPlug requests access to the following Google API scopes:
- Google Ads API (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords)
Allows AdPlug to read your campaign data, create and modify campaigns, ad groups, keywords, ads, and pull performance reports — only when you explicitly request it through your AI tool. - OpenID Connect (
openid)
Used to verify your identity during the connection process. - Email (
email)
Used to display which Google account is connected in your AdPlug dashboard.
How does AdPlug use your Google data?
AdPlug uses your Google data exclusively to:
- Execute Google Ads API calls on your behalf when you make requests through your MCP-compatible AI tool
- Display your connected Google account email in your dashboard
- Show connection status and basic account information
AdPlug does NOT:
- Run background syncs, automated scans, or scheduled jobs against your Google Ads account
- Use your data for advertising, analytics, benchmarking, or market research
- Sell, rent, or share your Google data with third parties for their own purposes
- Use your data to build user profiles for advertising or marketing
- Use your Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized AI and/or machine learning models. Data passing between your AI tool and the Google Ads API is not retained by AdPlug, used for model training, or shared with any AI model provider for training purposes.
- Retain your data after you disconnect your account
How does AdPlug store your data?
- OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using Fernet (AES-128-CBC + HMAC-SHA256) and stored in a database protected by Row-Level Security (RLS) — each user can only access their own data
- All connections use HTTPS (TLS 1.3) — data in transit is always encrypted
- No Google Ads data is cached or stored — API responses are returned directly to your AI tool session and are not persisted on our servers
- Secrets and credentials are stored in environment variables, not in code
Who can access your data?
AdPlug does not allow humans to read your Google user data unless:
- We have your explicit, affirmative consent
- It is necessary for security purposes (e.g., investigating a security incident)
- It is necessary to comply with applicable law
- The data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations
How can you revoke access?
You can revoke AdPlug's access to your Google Ads account at any time:
- From your AdPlug dashboard — click "Disconnect" next to Google Ads. This immediately deletes your encrypted OAuth tokens from our database.
- From your Google Account permissions page — remove AdPlug from the list of apps with access to your account.
Limited Use Disclosure
AdPlug's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
